The Morning was cold as ice and the road was slippery and wet. I only have a few miles to go till im home.Im tired from the night and my eyes are getting heavy. My car seems to be driving itself as i am not moving. Like i am frozen in time.
just a split second and my hand slips off the steering wheel, as i jerk awake just in time to see another car heading streight for me. I swerve and miss him by inches but my head is spinning like a top and it wont stop.
Everything goes black and i have no idea where i am.Suddenly i here from a distance, a siren getting closer. I smell something burning but i can only see darkness.
There is a calm, a stillness inside of me that i have never felt before. A warm feeling comes over me as though someone had covered me with a blanket but i here know one, just the sound of the siren geting louder.
The next morning i woke up in the hospital not remembering a thing.A very attractive nurse walked into my hospital room with a pan of water and some bandages. across from my bed was a mirror where i could see myself.Checking myself thoroughly i realised that i was perfectly ok.
As the nurse aproched, i asked her what the bandages were for? she assured me that they were for me. I told her that i look and feel just fine and assured her that i had no need for them, that she must have had me mixed up with someone else.
with that, i decided to get up and leave and thank them for all of their help and suport.
As i threw off my bed sheets to get up i stared in horror! I had no legs! I felt them but they were not there. They had been amputated from the hips down!
I passed out and did not wake till the following day when they were reeling me in for surgery.
I was in the hospital for 3 weeks recouperating from my injurys and wondering how this was going to affect my life and those around me.The one thing i have always liked doing was jogging through the mountain sides and now i will no longer be able to do that. No roller skating ,ice skating or riding my enduro bike across country. My life seemed bleak at the least.
Im not ending this story you are.Think about what you would do if you were in my shoes you could not wear. What would you do? only you can answer that question.
