Easter Sunday
not the resurrection, but His resurrection
a person, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead.
In the Auburn Local Government Area we not only have the Olympic Park, we have a large men's, womans and juvanile prison and we have the largest cemetary in the Southen hemosphere.
Imagine going to Rookwood Necropolos and finding your loved ones tomb open and the body of your loved one was not there!
You would be outraged.
You would want to know who took the body!
Mary, Mary and Salome went to Jesus tomb to complete burial procedures. There was no body, even though the tomb had been sealed and guarded by soldiers.
There had been an earthquake
the stone had been rolled away
they were informed that Jesus had in fact risen from the dead!
imagine saying that at your local cemetary!
lets feel the incredible nature of the occasion.
I was praying last night, as I walked along the Plaza outside Stadium Australia
the Lord reminded me that all around me was revitalisation, the revitalisation of Homebush Bay to protect and revitalise the remaining Homebush Bay wetlands.
The greatest parable of the significance of resurrection is all around me.
Where I am sitting at Newington Village was a Navy practice range- its been revitalised.
there is new life in Homebush Bay
a parable illustrating the new life Jesus Chjrist gives
only His new life is more complete
more significant
than the structures and landscaping at Homebush Bay.
News of the resurrection of Jesus Christ spread
it spread through the community of the desciples,
as Peter, who had denied Jesus
now came to see the linen cloth in the tomb, without the bidy of Jesus it had been wraped around.
HE IS RISEN!
the Lord is risen indeed
