We don't know who first said it, but nearly everybody has heard the old adage that says: "Haste Makes Waste." Whatever is done must be done slowly and methodically in order for the thing done to have lasting value and beauty. But, such is not always the case.

Take the time George wanted to write some more music. George had written music before, in fact, music had been his life. He was a master of Opera, Oratorio (the word means a long dramatic composition, usually on a religious theme) and various keyboard skills. He knew that complex classical music arrangements required time and dedication in order for all the various parts to flow togeather in harmony and artistry. One day, George sat down to write a score, and, except for sleeping and eating, didn't get up until he had finished the task.

George wrote, turning out many products of his mind, for 24 days straight and finished a total of 53 numbers, over two per day. This was unheard of. Would it be worth listening to? Would people like it? You be the judge.

George's work was first performed in public April 13, 1742 ( over 250 years ago!) and has since been, by far, the most popular oratorio ever written. In this case we  should be glad that George (this was George Frederick Handel) didn't drag his feet when writing:
