Isn't our
sight a wonderful blessing?
With it , we have
full and complete contact with the world around us. Through sight, we can
fully appreciate the wonders and beauty of nature and learn to survive
in a world that might otherwide be filled with dangers and peril. But,
does this mean that people without sight do not enjoy the same things as
people with sight? Can they not enjoy awesomeness of wonders?
Consider the outcome
of four (4) friends having dinner one evening after witnessing the sisappearance
of the last rays of daylight over Lake Winona, Indiana in 1936. Virgil,
Grace, Blanche and and Horrace, all were awestruck at the beauty
and majesty of the feflection of this spectacle upon the surface of the
water and were relating it to the glory of GODl Even with the storm clouds
appearing on the same horizon, it was and inspirational scene. All commented,
but it was Horrae who said it was the most beautiful sunset he had ever
seen:
HORRACE WAS BLIND!
He said, "I can see beyond
the sunset." Those words inspired Virgil and Blanche that night to write
the words and music to one of America's most beloved hymns:
"BEYOND THE SUNSET"
And today you and I think 20/20 is perfect vision.....
