The Real Truth About
Tongues:
What Does the Bible (KJ1611) Say
About Tongues?The Real
Truth About Tongues: What Does the Bible (KJ1611)
Say About Tongues?

The following is a statement of
fact. This
information is taken from the
King James Bible, the only real source of
truth! The KJV is the authority
on all the issues of life. God speaks today to
men through the word of God,
not through prophets as in days gone by. Luke
16:16 says that the law and
the prophets were until John. So John was the
last prophet! Today we
are answerable to the Word of God, the KJV with
all of its authority, the
final, and only authority!
There are not many interpretations of the
Bible today, but there is only one!
God said what he meant, and meant what he said. I
will give in to the fact
that there are many applications that can be used
in our lives today. Let me
stop here and add one thought: The Holy Ghost
will never lead you opposite
of the Word of God. Many people claim to be lead
by the spirit, but if this
leadership goes against the Word of God, it is
not the Spirit of God that is leading you.
There is much confusion today about the issue
of "TONGUES". Simply the
fact that there is confusion tells us that it is
not of God! The debate and the
arguement rages today over the right or wrong of
this practice in our day. I would
like to try to explain what the Word of God says
about it, now I realise that I am
not a proffesional writer or speller but we will
attempt to help anyway! As a
preacher friend once said: "I may not make you
believe what I believe, but I
will make you believe that I believe what I
believe".
I think that in order to establish the need
for what the Holy Ghost did that day
at Pentacost we need to explain to you about the
Tower of Babel. In Genesis 11,
we find that the Lord caused a difference of
language to appear because of
thier attempt to reach Heaven in a tower! Did
they not know that the only way
to Heaven is by the Lord Jesus? They no longer
all spoke the same, they had
different lanquages.
Now we go to Acts , where we find a book of
beginings, the beginings of the
Church. There was a great change taking place , a
change of dispinsations.
The Law was being moved on by Grace, remember
John 1:17. The mighty
Hand of God had moved all the people into
Jerusalem and was about to do
something that had never been done before, He
(The Holy Ghost) was about to
indwell mens hearts for the first time. Gods
presence had dwelt in the temple
and in the tabernacle, but never in a mans
heart.
Time and space will not allow
me to get into the reason, but let me tell you
that it was Grace... Pure Grace.
The previous dwelling places had to be perfect
before his presence would move
in, but He was about to enter into a body that
was not perfect, in fact a long
way from it! That ought to make us shout Glory
to God!
Men from all of the world were in the city
and when it all happened, the
Lord let every man speak in a different language.
Please stop and read
Acts 2 :1-8. You see it was not some giberish,
but a definite lanquage!
This was done mainly in two locations: (1) At
Jerusalem where there was mostly
Jews and (2) At Cornelius' house, where there
were mostly gentiles. It was
a language, the Greek word is "glossia" it is
like French or German to us.
Also, the Lord did some things so the Church
could start that no longer are
done. People today do not and have no need to
"speak in tongues" as they say they do.
It is by Grace, and Grace alone. Some will tell
you that you have to "speak in tongues"
to prove you are saved, well that is not so, it
is not of works lest any man should
boast (Eph. 2).
Turn to 1 Corinthians 13:8. Notice that
charity (love) never fails, but what does it say
about the others? They shall cease! Now if you
have any doubt about "...that
which is perfect" in verse 10 being the completed
Word of God, then you are
probably lost or a Christian that is still on the
bottle. Friend, Jesus has always
been perfect HE IS LORD! HE IS GOD!
One thing I find most interesting is that
those few that claim to "speak in tongues"
are mostly women, but Paul said for them to be
quite in the church. Another thing
is that they are not usually faithful in other
areas of their Christian lives!
I really wish we could get people to slow down
and read the Word of God and
let the Spirit speak to them and reveal to them
the truth! I am afraid the real
problem is that we are dealing with a lot of lost
people with no knowledge of
the ways, or things of God. I find in my dealings
with this group that they will
not take scripture in context, they will not read
it all, or use it all, but they just use parts! I
have
also noticed their alliance with the "Healing
People" I think it's like the measels, this
untruth is breaking out all over them. The Bible
says that from the abundance of the heart, the
mouth speaketh!
It goes all along with other apostate
teachings are leading people to hell! Pray
for the lost of our land, and praise the Lord for
the TRUTH!
P.S. THE LORD KNOWS ENGLISH!
