Chemistry: Acids, Bases, Gasses & Giggles is the perfect program for grades K-8. It can be simplified for the lower grades and all the details are there for the upper grades. It is a 45 minute program that can be lengthened or shortened as need be. It is curriculum-based, teaching about acids, bases, gasses, chemical reactions, combustion, polymers, atoms, molecules, matter, lab safety and more.
We supply you the complete script, including alternate experiments, sample chemicals and the sources where other necessary chemicals can be easily obtained. All of the chemicals can be obtained over-the-counter once you know where to buy them.
We also include a special performance DVD with excerpts from various shows to give you ideas on how to present various experiments.
Soon you will be creating a complex polymer onstage with the help of your assistant. This slimy, non-Newtonian solid will amaze the crowd, and be a great, safe, non-toxic keepsake for one lucky child. You will magically have liquids changing colors. A clear liquid turns red then clear again. Two liquids mixed together give a spectacular geyser. A liquid and a solid are mixed and instantly combust, as purple flames come forth from your bowl. Other polymers react with water in amazing ways. A huge blob grows and grows when two liquids are mixed together to form a solid. Re-enact the flight of the Hindenburg as history and science come together on stage in an unforgettable finale. Alobng the way children are learning about chemistry and the world around them and being instructed in safety in the lab and home.
