The LORD is powerful;
He gives victory
to His chosen one.
Psalm 28:8 (NCV)

Why should we pray? We need to pray because we are in a spiritual battle. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.(Eph 6:12 NIV)

But we are not alone in the battle. Human help is useless, but we can win the battle with God's help. He will defeat our enemies. Besides equipping ourselves with the Armor of God to face our enemies in battle, Ephesians tells us, Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Eph 6:18 NIV)

To stand against Satan we must not stand in our own strength. We must be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. The LORD is powerful; he gives victory to his chosen one. (Psa 28:8 NCV)

I am reminded of David as he faced Goliath. David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands."(1 Sam 17:45-47 NIV) David did not face the enemy in his own strength. The Lord delivered Goliath into his hand.

Yes we are in a spiritual battle, but the battle is the Lord's. We are weak but He is strong. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We can overcome through Him: because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.(1 John 5:4 KJV) We need faith. Not faith in faith, not faith in prayer, but faith in the Lord God Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

May you be blessed of the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.
(Psa 115:15 NNAS)
