Pansy's Second Love

Learning To Make a Joyful Noise

I am sure you are wondering why this page is called "Pansy's Second Love". Well, my first love of course is Jesus Christ. So, music is my second love. It has been said that "God gave us music so that we might pray without words". I have had a love for music since I was a young child. I remember sitting in front of the record player (yeah, I know...What's a record player??:) and singing along with my favorite performers. I had the same dream that most girls my age did...a dream of becoming a star. Well, I am hardly a star but I did go on to pursue a dream.

What it took...

After I graduated from High School, God performed a miracle and got me a Music Scholarship to the University of Mobile. I know that there were many people who thought I would NEVER make it through college and earn a Music Degree, but here I am...living proof that If God calls you to do something, HE will help you. My years at the University of Mobile are some that I will never forget. I learned SO MUCH during my time there. They were both hard and wonderful at the same time. Through all of those Music Theory and Form and Analysis classes, the one thing that kept me going was the fact that I KNEW that God was calling me into music ministry. I can offer some words of encouragement to all of you who are considering traveling the same road...DO IT! It is worth it all...

"Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Philippians 1:6

Now, I wait with anticipation of what God will do with the talents that He has given me. I have been out of College for one year and things have gone a lot differently than I thought; but I know that it is all in HIS hands.

God has given me a wonderful opportunity to minister in music through my local church. I am a member of the Sunday Morning Worship Team. I also direct the Youth Worship Team for our church. Even though I am not yet in full-time Music Ministry, God is giving me great ways to build the talents that He has given me. I know He is getting me ready to do an awesome work for Him in the future.
