Finding God and Defeating Sin

Sin, the Separator

Sin is a divider, a separator between you and God.  It keeps you from having the relationship that God desires to have with you (Romans 6:23). We must understand that God is holy, God does not sin nor does He want anything to do with sin, but God will forgive your sin if you sincerely ask Him to (Romans 10:9).

The Relationship

God wants a relationship with you. Because sin separates us from God, God chose to provide a way of forgiveness through Christ (John 14:6). God sent Jesus into the world to direct us, to teach us, to visually show us His love. However, because of sin, God required a sacrifice to be made in order to provide a way of forgiveness. God sacrificed His own son so that we can have a way of forgiveness through Jesus. This is good news because, even though sin separates us from God, we can know that the price has already been paid by Jesus (Romans 5:8-9).

The Step

What do you need to do in order to be saved from sin and death? God says in the bible that Jesus is the way, the only way (Acts 4:12 & John 14:6). In order to be saved, God asks that we come to Him as we are, tell God that we believe in Him and His son, thank God for providing a way of forgiveness through Jesus, ask God to forgive you of all the sin that has separated you from Him, and then ask God to guide and protect you through all that you do in your life. Submit your life to Christ. God wants to use you to shine His light. Will you allow Him to?
