1. How do I get my e-mail?
A. This is only for those who had an email alias through us before January 7, 2000. If you joined after that, then you won't have an email alias.
For those that joined before January, 2000: You don't have to do anything extra to get your e-mail that comes to your ilovejesus.com e-mail address. This address is an "alias". That means that when mail comes to your ilovejesus.com address it is automatically forwarded to the e-mail address you gave us when you signed up! For example: say I have an e-mail address called "email@example.com" and I signed up for an ilovejesus.com e-mail address called "firstname.lastname@example.org". Then, I can tell everyone to e-mail me at "email@example.com and all I would have to do is check the mail at "firstname.lastname@example.org" to get it. If you need help using it for your "reply to" address, click here.
2. How do I change my web page?
A. After you make your page, all you have to do is sign in and click on "Edit my site" and then choose the page you want to edit and click on "go edit". It will have all the same information in it from the last time you worked on it provided that you clicked on the "save my page" button the last time you were in there.
3.How do I make additional pages?
If you have used all the pages that the creator first made for you, all you need to do is go over to the right hand side of the page and click on "Manage Your Files". Then click on "Create a New Page". Then you can choose if you want to create a blank page or if you want to create a page based on the layout of an existing page. That way all you have to do is edit what you don't want out. Then click on "Create the Page!"
4. How do I copy and paste text from one page (or program) to another?
A. This little trick comes in very handy when updating your web page. You can copy the information already in your web page over to a text program (like "notepad"). Place your cursor at the beginning of the text that you want to copy. Hold your mouse button down and drag it through the text until it is all selected (it will normally change color). Then you can do one of two things. First of all, you can go up to the "edit" menu at the top of your screen and drag down to "copy", then place your cursor at the point where you want to paste the text. Then go back up to "edit" and drag it down to "paste". -OR- you can copy by hitting "ctrl" and "c" at the same time, then "ctrl" and "v" to paste. Those are called keyboard shortcuts. (In Mac, you need to use the "apple" key instead of "ctrl")
5. What is my web address (URL)?
A. Current Homepage Maker: Your web address will include the area that you chose upon sign up. Example: If you chose "My Home" as your area on sign up, your address would be like this: www.ilovejesus.com/myhome/username/filename.shtml
Old Homepage Maker: Your web address will be like the following: www.ilovejesus.com/myhome/username/filename.html
(notice the difference between ".html" and ".shtml". That is one reason why the new program won't edit pages from the old one)
6. How do I upgrade to another account option?
You can get your own domain name at http://www.christianwebhost.com
9. How do I put a guestbook in my page?
You have a built in guestbook with this program and it should be available in your drop down list of files that were created for you when you signed in the first time.
If you want a few more options with your guestbook, go out to http://www.christianguestbook.com and sign up for a guestbook. Then, follow the instructions on those pages. There are instructions for those that edit their html as well as those that use the Jesus Lovin' Page Creator (the link images are already built in).
10. After you sign in, click on the "Edit your personal site" button and then choose the "Manage Your Files" button over on the right hand side. From there you can either click on "Create a New Page" or "Upload/Fetch Files"
11. Just sign in and click on "Change Contact Information"
12. How do I edit the html directly/how to put in html codes (banner exchanges, web rings, etc)
First of all, if all you need to do is put in an html code somewhere in the body of your page for a webring, midi file, banner exchange then you can just copy and paste it in one of your text boxes on your page.
If you need to do something more complicated and need to access your html code, just click the button on the main page that says "Edit Html directly"
13. Click here for instructions on how to use a border background.
14. Where do I get midi files?
We have some just for you! Click here to go to our midi help page.
15. Why can't I get my external links page to work?
The external links (free for all links page) is not working properly and we haven't had good indication from the programmer that it will be fixed any time soon. If you need to add links to your free for all links pages, please enable visitors to add them, go out to your page and add them in, and then go back to the page creator and disable the visitors from being able to add links again. OR we have enabled a small directory for you to use if you like instead. Choose Search_Engine from the drop down list to set it up.
16. My internal links are messing up!
There is an elusive problem with the internal links when you are trying to set them up for your pages. It may have something to do with if you have one of the search pages in the list, but you can set them and save them on your page and then the next time you go in to edit them, they are out of order and messed up. The programmer couldn't duplicate this error so we are kind of stuck. We are trying to get this figured out for you, but it may take a while. Please forgive the inconvenience...
